You Help US - We Help YOU!
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Faith and I have been so very privileged and blessed to travel the nation to see children in schools and in hospitals. We have visited many military bases where we have been greeted by soldiers, their families and military personnel. Faith has been invited to see wounded warriors, and soldiers with both disabilities and issues with depression due to their experiences with the war. It has been an honor for us to have been involved in this work; in this mission for more than eight years.
Recently my personal vehicle has been unable to take us to these events. I am in need of a new vehicle, but I am without the means to purchase one. Because of our work we are more often than not unpaid for such visits, only being compensated for the travel, hotel, and fuel expenses. It was suggested to me that we make an appeal to a local dealership that could use the advertising and respected reputation of helping a local celebrity (Faith) be able to reach the children of our area as well as children and soldiers in areas within driving distance. For us driving distances means somewhere in the 4 hour range – perhaps up to 300 miles from Indianapolis.
If you would be willing to provide us a good car we could provide advertising for your company through allowing you to dress the car in a customized “skin” with your company logo and contact information. It would be seen EVERY DAY as I drive around the city of Indianapolis and surrounding areas. You company logo and contact information would also appear on my website www.faiththedog.infoand on my Facebook account. I would Twitter and Buzz, Digg, and use other SEO types of advertising including Linked In. I have quite a lot of followers and as Fatih is often in national and local magazines and papers, your company would be more than rewarded. I would also arrange to mention your generosity when interviewed for radio blogs and programs, when Faith and I are on television and of course when we visit the children and soldiers.
Please consider being the hero we need! A used car would be good, but a new one would be best. We can of course provide our own insurance. I look forward to hearing from you - it may be a different type of request, but being different often makes the difference. This is the very positive and inspiring message I bring to thousands every month through meeting with them - - Faith does have a mission. Please consider being a part of it. Thank you.

Faith the Dog and Harry Potter
Faith was asked to be in the 4th movie of the Harry Potter series. I was thrilled of course, and couldn't get my mind wrapped around how we would do that since it was being filmed shortly and she was not ready to travel overseas. At the time she was not as travel-savvy as she is today and I didn't have a passport, and Faith wasn't given the overseas shots and quarantine by-pass papers, so it looked as if the idea was a bust.
Then another idea came up through the pike - - she could film here, and they could edit her in. (Have you seen the MAGIC those people do with special effects?) Anyway, time passed, the crew and production people didn't work out the details as needed, and poor Faith did not get to play the role of a lifetime: She was going to be a little dog that was created when Cedric dropped his wand in the middle of the first challenge of the Goblet of Fire. The wand hit a stone and the incantation he called out was slightly altered. FAITH was to be the alteration! Faith would have been a wonderful addition to the film and though it was not that way in the book - she would have been the star for sure! Maybe that's why they didn't go forth with the idea, they were afraid she would steal the scene! (Just saying)
Faith went her way and the great cast and crew of the Harry Potter series went their way. Today her image was sent via satellite to the crew and cast when they were at the premiere having a rest. The cast loves Faith and I was personally told by Rupert's assistant that he truly would have loved to have met Faith. She was written about in his local paper in Hertfordshire, England, and his mum is also a big fan of my little yellow dog. I am told.

Faith the Dog Visits Petco for National Adopt-an-Animal Day

Faith and I took Reuben with us to PETCO #1491 in Ft. Worth, TX this past Saturday to help celebrate National Adopt-an-Animal Day as well as to help the great C.A.R.E. team find homes for their dogs and cats too.
C.A.R.E. brought about ten animals to PETCO and placed two I believe, a dog and a cat.
Reuben was certainly the most popular guy there. Those who follow Faith's story were absolutely thrilled to see Reuben in person! One woman stated she thought she'd never be able to contain her joy for having met Faith, but also seeing her original rescuer in person. She was so proud of Reuben and his military service. Her son served in the Army for 11 years.

I'd say we saw just over a hundred people at the store. Many donations were made both to help the rescue efforts in Haiti as well as a couple of animal shelters that really need our help.
Everyone at PETCO was just so wonderful - - Faith, Reuben, and I thank PETCO and C.A.R.E. for inviting us to come out and hang around for the afternoon.

KIDS Update - Letting You Know How the Brats are Doing!
Reuben and Reuben will be together soon, as my son comes home to stay January 1, 2010. He and his Grandpa Reuben are very close and it will be the best present the whole family can enjoy. This saves me so much money on gift giving this year - thank you Reuben, I appreciate your sacrafice! LOL. Reuben has been in the snow and ice of Ft. Wainwright, Alaska since he left Iraq in early September. He claims the Army doesn't work him very hard knowing he'll be leaving, but he has been doing daily PT and formations and going to seminars and debriefing. He told me the name for it, but you know - - I just say "OK son!" and go on. He talks faster than I do, and if you've ever heard me speak you'd think that was impossible. Reuben will be coming home and attending the University of Central Oklahoma where he will try out for the football team. If he makes it, and I think he will, he will probably NOT be a defensive end like he was in high school. At 6'2" and 200 he's more in the receiver/safety range build-wise. His Army discipline will thrill the coaches and his charm and smile will thrill the girls. So, it's a win-win! Looking forward to the boy coming home. While in Alaska these past few months he's bought himself a new truck and a big screen TV, so the Army gets to bring that to him - - besides a place to crash with POP - - what more can a boy ask? (Don't ask, he'll be asking I'm sure.) Did I tell you he wants a PIG for a pet? That's Reuben! You can take the Red Neck out of the country and make him fight a war, but you can't take the Red Neck out of the boy....wow...and to think, I gave birth! LOL
Laura Cakes (as we call her) has been working for MY favorite joint - STARBUCKS!! YES, Mama gets free coffee and that's all that really matters. Caity worked there for just a second or two, but found that working for herself was more profitable and enjoyable. Laura takes orders much better than the little one, and she's great at customer service. Reality set in just a bit when her friends came in and saw her working and she couldn't sit with them, but she reailzed she could do more, she served them! She helped them, and that made her feel better. The thing about Laura is; she's very clever, witty, charming, and even cunning at times - - but she keeps it under wraps too often. She has been writing (secretly at night) and I've read a lot of what she's writing. She's into the fantasy fiction side of literature and she's good at it. If she erases or doesn't save her work again I'm going to beam her upside the head, but other than that - - Oh, and she's still singing, she's the singing barista with the Hello Kitty bows in her hair. You don't see them in this photo, but she wears them and braids her long red hair to be more childlike for the younger customers who come in regularly and ask her to sing to them. She may turn out to be the most famous singing barista in Ardmore, OK...wait, she is!! YEA!!! Now, if we could just get a record label mogul to go into the store on her shift!! When Reuben comes back Laura and he will be getting a place in Edmond, OK and saying GOOD BYE to their little baby sister - - for a little while.
Well, she's back to having her white hair again. I know since the last time I updated this she was brown, red, black, and white again. She's going to lose all of her hair one day and that won't bother Caity. She'll be just as pretty without hair. She amazes me in that sense. Actually, she's up to something -- she has created a new radio talk blog and it will be streamlined with live video. It's called "Up Late with Laura and Cait" so it needs to be perfected fast before Laura moves off to Edmond. I think they'll use dual cams when Laura moves. You can't have Laura and Cait without Laura, right? So, besides coming up with radio shows topics, designing the logos, location, website, and such Caity is also making bracelets and jewelry. She's looking forward to the day I get my money from the book proposal so I can move her and her ideas to California where she can be seen and heard properly. She's a bit of a show off and that's the best place for her. Saying good bye won't be hard for her, she's one of the best survivors in the world. I hope she remembers the little things like taking a toothbrush and wearing socks when it's cold. What am I saying, she'll be so busy and so wrapped in work and play I'll have to be the one checking up on her, she won't call! She is a bit like someone else I know -- wait, that would be me. God knew what He was doing when He made this one. But at this point, I think He should lose the mold.
